WEST DUNBARTONSHIREWest Dunbartonshire has a good claim to be the gateway to the west highlands
The route from Scotlandís central belt and Glasgow to Loch Lomond and beyond runs right through the middle of West Dunbartonshire. For buyers, the main population centres, Dumbarton itself and other towns such as Clydebank, run along the shore of the Firth of Clyde. Like most other towns on the banks of the Clyde, these were built on the enormous wealth generated by Glasgowís position as one of the worldís leading industrial centres. Like other towns, they suffered as a result of the decline of heavy industry, but are now experiencing a revival thanks to the renewed interest in waterside living.
Further north, West Dunbartonshire stretches to the popular and picturesque southern tip of Loch Lomond. In general, properties in West Dunbartonshire remain relatively affordable compared to its immediate neighbours and the region as a whole. But with buyers looking for value after a decade or so of rising prices, the area is well placed to capitalise on its many advantages.
