Property for sale in Stirling

STIRLINGSHIRE

With scenery to die for and a true diversity of housing, it's easy to see why Stirlingshire retains a unique appeal

Stirlingshire is a property market of two halves.  To the east is Stirling itself, arguably one of the most historic locations in Scotland and the birthplace of Scottish independence.  The town, dominated by the castle, is a thriving economic centre and a popular tourist destination with excellent rail and road links to both Glasgow and Edinburgh.  There is a mix of housing typical of an historic town running from Georgian and Victorian townhouses to modern apartments and detached homes.

To the west, Stirlingshire is almost entirely rural, with a series of prosperous villages along the route west to Loch Lomond.  While agriculture still plays a major role in the local economy, most of these villages are within relatively easy reach of Glasgow and many residents will commute in to the city for work.  Moreover, with the east shore of Loch Lomond and the route of the West Highland Way easily accessible, the area is hugely popular with walkers.

The peaceful setting of these villages, Killearn, Balfron and Drymen are typical, and their close proximity to Glasgow on the one hand and Stirling on the other makes them hugely popular and homes in these villages or nearby are always in demand.
