According to a new report from Cushman & Wakefield, Glasgow is the sixth best place in the UK for locating a business, the highest placed Scottish city ahead of Edinburgh. The Cushman & Wakefield UK Cities Monitor survey judges each conurbation on 21 factors, from quality of life to transport links, and Glasgow excelled in the key business categories. It was the third best venue for back room functions, fourth best in terms of staff costs and sixth best for recruitment. In terms of call centres, it is joint second with Leeds, and finished third overall in the internal transport category, with extensive car parking placing it fourth.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, London, Manchester and Birmingham occupied the top three places overall, with Leeds a worthy fourth, although Bristol surprised many by finishing fifth.
