Drum-ming up interest

June 28, 2011

The word drumlin describes a small naturally occurring hill, of the sort Glasgow's city centre is built on. However, for house hunters in North Lanarkshire, the word will soon have an entirely new connotation, since Bellway has christened its new development in Gartcosh The Drumlins. Situated on the eastern edge of town off Johnston Road, and ideally situated for access to the M73, this collection of three and four-bedroom villas is presently being marketed from another Bellway development nearby - the number to call for details is 0141 773 0206.

Bellway GartcoshComprising the majority of home styles at The Drumlins, three-bedroom properties are in regular evidence as you peruse the site plans - deservedly so, considering the enduring popularity of this particular home size. Examples to be found along this P-shaped residential avenue include the semi-detached Eden and Asquith, priced from £154,995 and adopting markedly different approaches to their internal layouts. The Eden is fairly conventional, with a compact reception hallway accessing a two-piece cloakroom and the main lounge, with a dining sized kitchen at the rear. Conversely, the Asquith places both these rooms to the rear; the hallway stars two opposing storage cupboards and a WC, while an integral garage protrudes from the property's frontage. Overhead, the similarities between the Eden and Asquith are far stronger, with an en-suite equipped master bedroom and two further apartments joined by a family bathroom in both properties. The three-bed detached Gladstone also adopts a similar approach, although its lower level is augmented by a front-facing family room and a utility room off the dining kitchen; the Roseberry's utility area is in its garage and the Grenville's double frontage has resulted in a hugely spacious triumvirate of bedrooms upstairs.

Incentives are currently available on properties at The Drumlins, including assistance with selling an existing property (which also negates the usual legal and conveyancing fees), removal and storage costs of up to £1,000, and legal fees worth the same amount.
