A new campaign has been launched by the body responsible for collecting the BBC licence fee, reminding home owners in the process of moving house that their licence is not transferable to another property. TV Licensing are running the national programme to ensure they are added to the list of companies who need to be informed of an impending address change. Failure to do so could mean a new occupant is unlicensed, even if they were paid up at their previous property, and the penalties can include prosecution and a £1,000 fine.
The process of updating your details takes a couple of minutes, and can be achieved either by calling 0844 800 6722, or going online at www.tvlicensing.co.uk.
