Builder: Cruden
Location: Partick
Development: West 11
Summary: Just off the inestimable Byres Road
Contact: 0800 052 7844
Overview: It was the glamorous ambience of Byres Road that attracted Cruden to the plot of land now being fashioned into their West 11 development, within striking distance of the myriad attractions planned for Glasgow Harbour, with the revitalised public transport interchange and a lowered Clydeside Expressway providing other local benefits. The surrounding environment could keep you entertained indefinitely, but Cruden have also engineered some attractions into the development itself. A total of 76 properties are being created, ranging from one and two-bed apartments through to duplexes and three bedroom penthouses on the upper levels.
Builder: Bellway
Location: Yoker
Development: Ashleigh Court
Summary: One of Bellway’s more characterful developments
Contact: 01698 477477
Overview: For many years, Yoker missed out on the burgeoning demand and rising prices seen across neighbouring suburbs, but Ashleigh Court is the latest site to take shape. It majors on houses, with a collection of two and three bedroom terraced and semi villas, all very attractive to young families and first time buyers. The terraced Cumbrae is set to be one of the entry level properties, but that said, it still manages to offer a French doored family room/kitchen, large lounge and downstairs cloakroom, while the family bathroom joins two bedrooms upstairs, the larger of which measures around 14 feet by 11.

Builder: Bellway
Location: Maryhill
Development: Mondriaan
Summary: One of Glasgow's enduring waterfront developments
Contact: 0141 946 8156
Overview: The development takes its name from Dutch impressionist Piet Mondriaan, whose signature bold splashes of colour influenced the cladding panels and the distinctive external appearance. From the canal side, the absence of a roofline means the properties extend upwards and then stop at the apex, while further Dutch influence can be seen in the steamed beech internal doors, and the ribbed wooden decking in the gardens. The bespoke designs include three and four bedroom townhouses, each placing the formal lounge downstairs, with kitchens on the intermediate level, before the top storey provides a master and one or two other bedrooms.

Builder: CCG Homes
Location: Jordanhill
Development: Claythorne
Summary: A compact townhouse development in hugely sought after suburb
Contact: 0141 643 3797
Overview: In recognition of the traditional environment it stands in, the properties at Claythorne have been designed specifically to blend in with their surroundings. Unusually for townhouses, there are detached garages for each property, freeing up the ground floor to accommodate a huge and open plan living/dining/family/kitchen area, with French doors at the far side. The intermediate level has a study and spare bedroom alongside the opulent master suite, the latter equipped with a grand dressing room and en-suite. Then there’s the top floor, hugely characterful externally, and home to a brace of bedrooms connected by a Jack and Jill en-suite.
Builder: Bryant
Location: Glasgow Harbour
Development: Imperial Tower
Summary: A collection of one, two and three bedroom apartments
Contact: 0141 334 5518
Website: www.bryant.co.uk
Overview: Stand in front of the double height window in the 18th floor duplex penthouse, and thanks to the window being a triple bay affair, this is an opportunity to see Glasgow in a whole new light, picking out landmarks from the metropolis laid out before you. Since Imperial Tower is directly beside the northern bank of the river, nothing interrupts the view, even in the apartments lower down. Nor should the rest of this flagship property be overlooked; there’s a mezzanine level above the open plan lounge and kitchen, with substantially proportioned bedrooms on both levels, while the bathrooms and en-suites have been finished to the standard you’d expect.
Builder: Dandara
Location: Partick
Development:Glasgow Harbour
Summary: The ingeniously named gh2o development
Contact: 0800 008 7008
Overview: Few people in Scotland had heard of dandara before they launched their inaugural development north of the Border at Glasgow Harbour. However, their contribution to the second residential phase of this £1.2 billion regeneration project has been capturing many people’s attention in recent times, with 770 properties under construction. The apartment buildings were designed by the team behind Argyle Street’s copper-clad Radisson SAS hotel, with one and two bedroom apartments and even studio properties, ideal for those on a budget or needing a weekday crash pad. A variety of penthouses will bring the number of flat styles to 15.
Builder: Kenmore Residential/Southplace
Location: Winton Drive
Development: Sapphire Court
Summary: Joint partnership creating nine bespoke apartments
Contact: 0141 222 2771
Overview:Any resident of Glasgow’s west end will know the appeal of Winton Drive, and the building currently being refurbished by Kenmore Residential and Southplace is unusual in that it extends to five storeys, being fashioned into nine bespoke apartments. Currently available are four two-bed apartments, all centred around an open plan living space including a fully fitted Wrightons kitchen with Siemens appliances dotted around, including a washer dryer and fridge freezer. Each master bedroom has an en-suite shower room adjoining it, while both bedrooms offer integrated wardrobe storage, and there’s a family bathroom as well.
Builder: Westpoint Homes
Location: Broomhill
Development: Trinity Reform Church
Summary: A fine example of a stylish church conversion
Contact: 0800 587 0222
Website: www.westpointhomes.net
Overview: Designed by JJ Burnet and begun at the turn of the 20th century, the Arts and Crafts-influenced design of the building is contrasted by a Baronial tower and Gothic carvings. A wander around the view apartment (which opened its doors for the first time last Thursday) contrasts strongly with that classic exterior, since each of the properties are fitted with Smeg appliances and granite worktops in the kitchens, Porcelanosa sanitaryware and furniture in the bath/shower rooms, alongside the classic beams, stonework and windows. There are 1,453sq ft two bedroom apartments alongside a four bedroom home measuring 2,540sq ft.
Builder: Strathclyde Homes/Park Lane
Location: Yoker
Development: Clyde Riverfront
Summary: Directly across the water from Renfrew Riverside
Contact: 01324 849000
Overview: Although it hasn’t enjoyed the same high profile as other spots along the waterfront, Yoker has also been in the grip of regeneration, as evidenced by the current collaboration taking place there between Strathclyde Homes and Park Lane, where 400 new homes will be constructed on brownfield land. The mixed development offers two bedroom apartments, a selection of three and four bedroom townhouses and semi detached villas across its portfolio of properties. Fully fitted kitchens join bathrooms and en-suites which are finished in chrome, while residents’ parking is incorporated into the landscaped grounds.
Builder: CALA
Location: Castlebank Street
Development: Glasgow Harbour
Summary: New brace of show apartments opened for viewing
Contact: 0141 337 6573
Overview: The furthermost of the three established complexes, CALA’s contribution to the creation comprises 172 apartments, duplexes and penthouses. Two new show apartments have opened, and although they are neighbouring two-bed properties, the focus of each is very different. One majors on living space, with a huge double aspect lounge overlooking the north and west of the city, while the other sacrifices some of its living space to increase the floor area of the bedrooms. Standard specs extend to Alno Impuls kitchens with stainless steel Neff appliances, Kaldewei and Laufen sanitaryware with Hansgrohe brassware and Porcelanosa tiles.
