Builder: Muir Homes
Location: Biggar
Development: Cornhill Gardens
Summary: Named after its position beside the eponymous Hotel
Contact: 01899 229052
Overview:As you drive up the main avenue, lined with lime trees, expectations are high for what lies beyond, and the new Falkland show home’s vast dimensions and unashamed luxury make it unforgettable. The ground floor has lost none of its appeal – complete with a huge formal lounge, double doored dining room, flexible family room and well-equipped kitchen, plus two cloakrooms and a study. Then there’s that dramatic natural wood staircase to the landing, from where the phrase “four bedrooms” has rarely seemed so inadequate to describe what’s on offer. The same is true of the family bathroom, with a huge centrally positioned bath beside a quadrant shower.
Builder: Caledonia Homes
Location: Kirkfieldbank
Development: The Avenue
Summary: Caledonia’s first ever split-level properties
Contact: 01555 665937
Overview: The 1930s were a golden age for single-storey living, combining the privacy of a house with the single-storey simplicity of a flat, and all garnished with gardens, driveways and garages. The Garrion bungalow here at The Avenue might look modest, but that L-shaped frontage gives little indication of the 20 foot lounge, opening into a formal dining room, with cabinets in all four corners of the kitchen and a central island unit forming the heart of the room. The hallway leads to a study and family room, and from here it’s on into the sleeping quarters. Four double bedrooms include three identically sized apartments, and one additionally enjoys its own en-suite, a feature shared by the huge bay windowed master apartment.
Builder: Consort Homes
Location: Lesmahagow
Development: Clannoch Brae
Summary: The moniker given to Consort’s latest development
Contact: 0800 096 5566
Overview: Within striking distance of Glasgow, Clannoch Brae benefits from its position beside the M74, and Clannoch Brae stands to the edge of town, with panoramic views over the countryside surrounding it. One of this development’s key points of appeal is its compact nature, with just 18 properties set for construction. Across this modest number of plots, however, there will be a choice of five different home styles, ranging from three to four bedrooms in size but all detached. The usual specifications will be incorporated, including stainless steel appliances in the fully fitted kitchens, wardrobes in the bedrooms and various choices of finishing materials.
Builder: CALA
Location: Cathkin
Development: Russell Brae
Summary: Becoming an exclusive residential pocket
Contact: 0141 634 9575
Overview: The latest property to attract attention at Russell Brae is the Suilven, resembling a compact bungalow, but specifically for downhill plots. Drawing, dining, family and study rooms stand alongside a kitchen, utility and internal cloakroom, with fully integral access into that attached double garage. Step down a level, meanwhile, and four bedrooms are joined by a triple aspect sunroom at the base of the quarter-turn stairwell; every bedroom has wardrobes, one has a quirkily shaped en-suite, and the other three each access the family bathroom across a welcoming square-shaped lower hallway. The Suilven is one of eight house styles available.
Builder: Alderview Homes
Location: Hamilton
Development: Kings Meadow
Summary: Off Bertram Street, in the heart of the district
Contact: 01698 827422
Overview: A final release of homes is scheduled for early next year, but in the meantime, there’s one last opportunity to secure a property in the latest phase of sales. The three bedroom Tarbert villa is the home in question, detached and offering an open-plan lounge and dining room on the lower level, beside the kitchen and cloakroom. Directly above, three wardrobe-equipped bedrooms can be found, along with two bathrooms, one of which is an en-suite to the master apartment at the rear. The integral garage is accessed along a flagstone and chip driveway, while the kitchen includes the holy trinity of an oven, hob and hood.
Builder: Regency Homes
Location: Blackwood
Development: New Blackwood Village
Summary: Arguably the county’s new build hot spot
Contact: 01555 895243
Overview: Arranged in a P-shape, the 65 properties will include three-bed semi villas, and both three and four bedroom detached homes. Every property will have wardrobes in all bedrooms, Germanic kitchens with a host of white goods, and downstairs cloakrooms. The detached Lochaber has a distinctive frontage with a gabled portico and single upper window, yet offers three double bedrooms, three bathrooms and a dining kitchen just short of 17 feet long. The Carrick adds a separate dining room, fourth bedroom, dressing room off bedroom two and an integral garage. Even the semi detached Pentland offers a 14 foot second bedroom and lounge.

Builder: Manorlane
Location: Netherburn
Development: The Hamptons
Summary: An exclusive collection of 52 detached villas
Contact: 0845 072 0073
Overview: Only residents of South Lanarkshire are likely to be familiar with Netherburn, a tiny former mining community situated up a twisting B-road a few miles outside Larkhall. However, in the months to come, many more people may be discovering it for the first time thanks to the arrival of Manorlane’s Hamptons development. Ranging between three and six bedrooms in size, the first completions are scheduled for November, and the unique selling point is the flexibility of the homes under construction, whether you want a traditional layout or a completely open-plan ground floor. Garden rooms and attic conversions can also be added.
Builder: Redrow
Location: Lanark

Contact: 0845 676 0509
Overview: Overlooking the Clyde Valley from Hyndford Road, Redrow are constructing 173 homes, ranging from three bedroom bungalows through to five-bed detached villas. The property styles chosen for Heather Lea have been selected carefully to create varied streetscapes, and the show homes reflect this; the five-bed Webburn extends over three storeys, with a brace of dormer windows poking out of the roof line and three ground floor public rooms joining a kitchen, utility and cloak room downstairs. On the first floor there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms (one an en-suite to the 17 foot master bedroom), and the top level yields a pair of apartments.

Summary: Expanding town with plenty to be proud of
Contact: 01555 894741
